Parallel - Forest or Woods and Feathers

Shake-Speare:
 In Hamlet 3.2.284
[Hamlet describes the feathers which actors sported on their hats as] "a forest of feathers".

Bacon, who was under pressure to sell his woods at his Gorhambury estate, said:   "I will not be stripped of my feathers!"  from Aubrey's Brief Lives

Comment: So both authors use the rather odd metaphor of feathers as a forest or wood.
